Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has organized INDUSTRY-ACADEMIA CONCLAVE on 26th July 2012, at MIT, Aurangabad. The sessions during the conclave have emphasised on how a good education system will bridge the industry academia gap and would truly improve the productivity and competitiveness of Indian Inc. During the Inaugural session the welcome address delivered by Mr. Sriram Narayanan, Conclave chairman & president & Director Endress + Hauser Automation (I) Pvt. Ltd. Special address delivered by Dr. Vijay Pandharipande, Vice chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Mr. Mahesh Shivankar, Joint Director, Technical Education, Aurangabad, and Mr. Raja Khochar, Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council & MD-India Eaton Technologies Pvt. Ltd. the keynote address delivered by Mr. Satish Jamdar, Chairman, CII Maharashtra state council & Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd. Mr. Kulathu Kumar, chairman CII Maharashtra Zonal Council and president & Director Endress + Hauser Flowtech India Pvt. Ltd. have concluded the inaugural session of conclave.

Countries with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of globalization. In this conclave the speakers have explored the methods of optimal utilization of potential of new technologies to improve educational quality. Also to see the methods in which education can be integrated with skills and how a research and innovation oriented ecosystem can be adopted by the industries. From various industries and academic institutes from Aurangabad total 84 delegates participated in conclave. During the main sessions of conclave Mr. Sriram Narayanan, Conclave chairman & president & Director Endress + Hauser Automation (I) Pvt. Ltd discussed on "Emerging challenges of Skill sets required for industry". Dr. R C Belapure, joint Director, Vocational Education & Training, Regional Office, Aurangabad, have discussed on "Skill Development Initiatives". Dr R M Jalnekar, Director Vishvakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, shared their experiences on industry – academia partnership at VIT, Pune with case studies. Prof. Munish Sharma, Director General, MIT, Aurangabad discussed about Industry –institute partnership and collaboration for improving Quality and explained collaboration successes of MIT, Aurangabad with industries at national and international level.
